What we do
with your details

Short version: we use your details to price your job and deliver it, we keep the records we are obliged to keep, and we do not give them to anyone else. Taaffe Sand & Gravel, Blacktrench, Naas, Co. Kildare is the data controller.

What we collect

Only what you give us when you ask for a price or a job: your name, your phone number or email, the site address or Eircode, and the details of the material or work you need. If you ring the yard we may write the same details on a docket or in the diary.

Name, Phone / email, Site address, Job details

Why we need it

To price your job, to get the lorry to the right gate, and to come back to you about the delivery. We also keep delivery and weighbridge records because we have to, for tax and for our waste collection permit.

How you can contact us

Whether you use the form, the phone or WhatsApp is up to you. The form is passed to our email by a service called FormSubmit, and our email is held by Google (Gmail). WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted, but they do travel through WhatsApp’s own service, so please do not send bank details or anything sensitive that way, ring the yard instead.

Cookies and this website

This website does not use cookies, analytics or any tracking, so there is nothing to accept or turn off. Like any website, our hosting provider (GitHub) keeps short-term technical logs of visits, such as IP address and browser type, to keep the site running and secure. The WhatsApp and Instagram links take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.

Who else sees it

Nobody outside the business, apart from the services named on this page that carry our email and host the website, unless the job needs it. For example, a landfill or recycling centre that has to record where the material came from. We do not sell enquiry details, and we do not pass them to marketing lists.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into work are cleared out once they are no longer any use to us. Records tied to a delivery are kept for six years, which is what tax and permit rules require.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted where we are not required to keep it. Ring the yard on 045 430 536 or ask at the office and we will sort it out. If you are not happy with how we handled it, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland.
